Ringpod is a free app that offers similar functionality to "Ringtone Maker," but with a classic dark theme. It allows users to create ringtones, alarms, and notifications from various audio file formats including FLAC, OGG, MP3, WAV, AAC(M4A)/MP4, and 3GPP/AMR. Setting the start and ending points of the audio can be done by sliding arrows along the timeline, pressing Start and End to record the desired points, or typing in time stamps.

Key features of Ringpod include:

Copy, cut, and paste functionality.
Fade in/out option for MP3 files.
Volume adjustment for MP3 files.
Previewing of ringtone files.
Scrollable waveform representation of audio files at 5 zoom levels.
Selecting starting and ending points for a clip using an optional touch interface.
Playback of the selected portion of the audio with an indicator cursor and auto scrolling of the waveform.
Ability to play anywhere else by tapping the screen.
Saving clipped audio as a new audio file with options to mark it as Music, Ringtone, Alarm, or Notification.
Recording new audio clips for editing purposes.
Deleting audio files with a confirmation alert.
Sorting options by Tracks, Albums, and Artists.
Built-in music player.

Ringtone save path:

Ringtone: sdcard/ringtones
Notification: sdcard/notifications
Alarm: sdcard/alarms
Music: sdcard/music

If your music files are not showing up, it may be due to a slow update process of the Android system's music database. To address this, you can use the "Scan" menu option in "Ringtone Maker" to force an update, which should make the music visible.
